With what purpose we use your personal data?

As users we rarely gather your personal data. For now, this only occurs when sending us an email or using a contact form.

We use this data to provide a trustful, open, and friendly line of communication if communication is to happen. Your data will not be divulged outside you and me, Marga.

If you decide to make donations, that is completely managed by Ko-Fi, and you should refer to their privacy policy to understand their use of your data.

If you’re a possible client we will use your data to:

  • Manage the possible comercial and/or professional relationship, to send the required information and/or to solve questions.
  • Send comercial information about products or services via email or other communication methods.

Which are the laws you follow?

As a Spanish non-profit’s project, we must follow laws and regulations based on Spain and the EU.
This includes BOE núm. 294, de 06/12/2018. and the European General Data Protection Regulation.

For now, the only data we ask our users are their first name (or nickname) and their email found in the contact form.

With this, we are to:

  • Provide users a way to consent and to withdraw such consent regarding the collection and use of their data.
  • Notify users within 72 hours regarding any data breach.
  • Provide a way for users to access the data that’s being collected, stored, and processed.
  • Restrict the data collection and processing to only the necessary data.
  • Limit the access to those employees that do not require the data to complete their tasks.
  • Appoint a Data Protection Officer to oversee compliance if we have more than 250 employees or we manage the data of 5.000 users a year.

How long will my data be kept?

Your data will be kept and used for as long as they serve a purpose or for as long as you, as a user, have indicated.
Any other data, like the ones found in emails, will be found and deleted as fast as possible.

Which are my rights regarding data?

Based on the GDPR your rights are:

  • The right to rectification – You have the right to correct any mistakes or inaccuracies.
  • The right to access – You have the right to access your data and to understand what it’s being used for.
  • The right to cessation of processing – You have the right to command us to stop using all our personal data.
  • The right to erasure – You have the right to command us to delete your data.
  • The right to portability – You have the right to transfer your data, regardless of form, to any individual or other providers.

Where can I complaint if I think my data is not being used correctly?

If any user were to consider their data is not being used correctly by Boyo Soap or that we are not following laws and regulations you can always send a complaint to the data protection authority that corresponds to you.

For Spain, that would be the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos or AEPD.

For the UK, that would be the Information Commissioner’s Office or ICO.

Safety and updates of your personal data.

With the objective to safeguard your personal data, we inform you that have carried on all the necessary technical and organisational measures to guarantee the safety of your personal data. All this is to prevent the alteration, loss, and/or management or access not authorised of your data.
Regardless, it is important to understand that complete safety is not achievable.

It is important that you inform us when any change in data occurs so we can keep your data updated.

Boyo Soap informs our users that all data will be kept as safely and confidential as possible by everyone that goes through data management. We will not provide nor communicate anyone external from Boyo Soap your data unless legal issues arise or you as the data holder states otherwise.
